AKASH RADIO

Akash Radio is a community radio station broadcasting on the West London DAB multiplex, created to serve and celebrate the vibrant Punjabi-speaking and South Asian communities across Ealing, Hillingdon, Harrow, and Hounslow.

We are a not-for-profit Community Interest Company (CIC), run by volunteers and supported by the community we represent. Our mission is to connect generations, preserve culture and language, promote wellbeing, and give a voice to every section of our community — from elders to young people, from Punjabi and Hindko speakers to newly arrived families.

Our programmes blend music, culture, spirituality, news, and local information with discussions on everyday issues such as housing, education, health, and civic participation. We work closely with local gurdwaras, councils, NHS services, schools, and interfaith groups to share trusted information and strengthen community bonds.

Through training, workshops, and volunteering, Akash Radio London helps people develop media and communication skills, build confidence, and get directly involved in running the station. Every pound raised goes back into improving our service, empowering voices, and creating positive change in our community.
